Dr Steve Tang graduated in Optometry from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland obtaining further professional exam certification with experience in London, Melbourne and Sydney to complete the prestigious Australian Optometrist Registration. His specialist training spanned from Glasgow Eye Hospital to Moorfield’s Eye Hospital in London, one of the world’s leading eye institutions. Steve has comprehensive fundamentals in all aspects of optometry. He specialises in Optos retinal analysis, contact lens fittings, vision testing and children’s eye care. With extensive experience in complex prescription, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, cataracts and UV damage to ocular tissue. Our new store is called Dr Steve Tang Opticians at 377 Sydney Road Balgowlah 2093. There is parking in the council carpark directly behind us as well as in Stocklands across the road.

We’ve just visited Steve and his great team at his awesome new store at Sydney Road, Balgowlah having previously gone to him at OPSM Stockland Balgowlah for many, many years. It’s the same exceptional customer service, outstanding knowledge, care and attention to detail - which is why we always go back - but now with a fantastic range of very competitively priced frames and quality lenses at at great price. Could not be happier!

Superb experience all round visiting Steve Tang Optometrists for eye examinations for my young children aged 7 and 10 today. My eldest child in particular has some significant sensory issues which creates great anxiety if people are too close to him, if he's touched by strangers and does not like bright lights. Makes going for haircuts, the dentist and the optometrist particularly stressful BUT Steve was able to work quickly, efficiently and incredibly compassionately to get the job done. He has a great energy and is fun. Clearly loves the job and a great people person. Highly recommend.

What a great service & peronalised care Dr Steve Tang & his practitioners give. I discovered a lot about my eyes I didn’t know due to their latest testing equipment & got new contact lenses they sell which are so much better suited for my eyes. I’m really happy with my new glasses & sunnies. And all fair pricing too. Highly recommend!

Steve and his Team are great. I saw them for an eye test and to get new prescription glasses. Excellent consultation and service. Steve recommended contact lenses in addition to the glasses for certain situations. I was a bit hesitant because I have never tried contacts before, but Steve really took his time and walked me through it step by step and gave very helpful tips. Having this option now has really changed my life. I am very satisfied with both the glasses and the contact lenses. Steve even followed up and checked how I was going with the contacts. Great optometrist, very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended. Thank you again, Steve + Team.

Steve is without doubt the best optometrist I have ever been to. He takes a bit longer than the big optometrist chains but that's because he's so thorough. I've been wearing glasses for 20 years and I've never had better prescriptions than those provided by Steve.He and his team are excellent and I would highly recommend anyone who needs a new pair of glasses to go see him

Have just visited Dr Steve Tang in his beautiful new store in the heart of Balgowlah and was warmly received by his attentive and friendly team. As always, Steve’s attention to detail and thoroughness during my eye examination are second to none, leaving me feeling reassured and clear on my options for contact lenses and glasses.Steve has a great range of frames and lenses available and I was able to quickly choose and order a pair to my liking, and provide all the info needed to ensure a perfect fit when these are made up.I can’t recommend Steve and his team enough - a couple of years ago, I had an ophthalmic emergency and Steve opened up very late at night to check what was happening before arranging for me to see a specialist the very next morning. His care factor and interest in his patients is huge and my family and I would only ever trust our eyecare to Steve and his experienced team.
