Dr Steve Tang graduated in Optometry from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland obtaining further professional exam certification with experience in London, Melbourne and Sydney to complete the prestigious Australian Optometrist Registration. His specialist training spanned from Glasgow Eye Hospital to Moorfield’s Eye Hospital in London, one of the world’s leading eye institutions. Steve has comprehensive fundamentals in all aspects of optometry. He specialises in Optos retinal analysis, contact lens fittings, vision testing and children’s eye care. With extensive experience in complex prescription, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, cataracts and UV damage to ocular tissue. Our new store is called Dr Steve Tang Opticians at 377 Sydney Road Balgowlah 2093. There is parking in the council carpark directly behind us as well as in Stocklands across the road.

Steve greeted us personally at the door, along with his gorgeous little dog! My son was immediately put at ease by the welcoming and casual atmosphere. He played with the dog while Steve and I talked, and Steve had a great way of explaining things to him so he could understand. This is a great place to take your family, they had every diagnostic machine, did a thorough test and also do blue light glasses for kids. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Any optometrist can perform an eye test and most at a bare minimum.Dr Steve Tang, performs an incredibly thorough eye examination, diagnostically checks and validates how your new glasses / lenses will function, explains every aspect of your eye health and points out and identifies potential future issues, before they could become an issue.You only get one set of eyes and good vision and this eye-master is the only person I trust with mine and my family'sScotland is known for great exports, and Steve Tang is up there with the best of them

I received excellent treatment from Steven who was able to identify a significant issue (retinal detachment) with my eye using the state of art machinery in his new practice.After his examination he immediately referred me to an Ophthalmologist and within two hours of leaving his practice I was already receiving treatment which prevented a serious issue for my sight.I can’t praise Steven and team highly enough for their care and professionalism in looking after me.

Fantastic Optometrist. Dr Tang and his team are exceptional, and I would (and have) recommend to all family and friends. Very professional staff and front-of-house, extremely convenient on Sydney Road -- with ample council parking just behind the building, next to a great family GP practice, and a lot of great caffeine options if you're early for your appointment!
